Thanks to the Association of Chinese Students and Scholars at Stanford (ACSSS), a friend and I will be watching the Olympic Torch Relay at San Francisco this Wednesday. Besides providing a free bus ride from Stanford to SF and back, the ACSSS will also be providing “a free lunch and free gift souvenirs.” I have a feeling what the ulterior motive of this generous gesture may be, but I will not comment further until after the day. I will be sure to post some pictures of the Torch Relay. If SF turns out to be anything like London or Paris, there will be plenty to share.

Update: Sorry folks, due to a slight miscalculation (read: I overslept), I missed the bus going to SF. I suppose my feelings are quite mixed about this. While being amidst all the chaos would have been a story to share, I almost certainly would have never seen the “Houdini torch.” Oh well…
